Biography of Marc Jean Garry Milfort Early Life & Education Marc Jean Garry Milfort was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on June 13, 1966. From an early age, he demonstrated a sharp mind, curiosity, and a strong sense of justice. He began his formal education at the prestigious Collège Saint-Martial. However, due to his outspoken political involvement during his youth, he was expelled and subsequently banned by the government from attending other schools. In the face of this adversity, Marc’s determination to learn never faltered. He found a mentor in the legendary Haitian intellectual Frankétienne, who welcomed him into his own school. There, Marc continued his studies until completing Rhéto. Unfortunately, the school did not offer the Philo level, which cut short his academic path in Haiti. Driven by his ambition and the desire for freedom, Marc emigrated to the United States in 1985 to pursue new opportunities. Professional Life In the United States, Marc overcame the challenges of immigrant life and earned his GED from Essex County College in Newark, New Jersey, in 1986. He pursued medical training, becoming both an EMT and an X-ray Technician, and later continued his academic journey with an associate degree from Miami Dade Community College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College. Marc also built a distinguished military career. Joining the U.S. Army in 1997, he served as a Unit Supply Specialist and later as a Supply NCO, Mechanic, and Logistics Supervisor in the 440th Signal Battalion. His responsibilities took him to Iraq, Kuwait, and Germany, where he managed petroleum logistics, vehicle maintenance, and warehouse operations. His leadership earned him multiple awards, including two Army Achievement Medals, three Army Good Conduct Medals, the Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Medal. Later Career After his military service, Marc transitioned into civilian roles in logistics and supply chain management. He worked with ManTech International Corporation as a Vehicle Maintenance Technician and later with Maytag Aircraft Corp. in Germany as a Fuel Distribution System Operator, managing petroleum logistics, compliance, and maintenance operations. His expertise spans supply chain strategy, asset management, warehouse control, and program support in conflict zones. Dedication to Haiti Today, with over 20 years of experience in military, humanitarian, and commercial logistics, Marc is dedicating his life to Haiti. He believes that his homeland now needs his expertise more than ever. His vision includes rebuild systems and infrastructure, strengthening supply chain systems, and ensuring that Haiti’s youth have access to education and opportunities that were once denied to him. Marc’s journey—from political exile as a student, to U.S. soldier, to seasoned logistics expert— fuels his determination to help Haiti rise to its full potential.
